In short
- This site has no accounts, and it sets no cookies of its own. Its only form is the feedback box, which opens your own email app.
- Everything you select or type is processed in your browser. It isn’t sent to us, except feedback you choose to email to us.
- Your parts list lives only in the page — it never leaves your device, and it clears when you reload or close the page.
- Three outside services are involved: Cloudflare hosts the site, Google serves its fonts, and CJ Affiliate and Newark handle what happens when you click a Newark link.
- You must check every part number before you buy or use a part. See Part numbers and purchases.
What this site collects
Nothing directly. The part number tools run entirely in your browser. The part numbers you build or decode, the options you pick and the quantities you enter aren’t sent to us, and we keep no record of them. The site loads only its own pages, data files and images from its own address, plus the fonts described below.
Your parts list
When you tick “Add to parts list”, the part number, quantity and description are kept in the page in your browser. Nothing is sent to us. The list lasts only for the current page view — reloading or closing the page clears it, so copy or download it (Copy list / Download CSV) before you leave.
Feedback
The Feedback button on every page opens a box for your message. When you press Send, your own email app opens with the message ready to send to Feedback@emechworkbench.com. The message isn’t sent to this site or to any server of ours, and nothing is sent until you send that email yourself.
If you send it, we receive your message, the address of the page you were on, and your email address as the sender. If you tick “I’d like a reply”, the email says so. We use your email address only to reply to you.
Hosting: Cloudflare
Cloudflare hosts this site. Like any web host, it receives technical information with each request, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for, so that it can deliver the page and protect the site from attacks. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie for that purpose. We may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without identifying you. Fonts: Google Fonts
The pages use fonts served by Google Fonts. To load them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser information. See the Google Fonts privacy FAQ.
Newark links and affiliate tracking
A “Newark ↗” link opens Newark’s search for that part number in a new tab. These may be affiliate links through CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction), which means this site may earn a commission if you buy something after clicking one.
When you click an affiliate link, CJ and Newark may set cookies in your browser and record details of the click, such as your IP address, browser, the time, and the page you came from, so that a purchase can be credited to this site. This happens on CJ’s and Newark’s sites, not on this one: this site doesn’t run CJ’s tracking code on its own pages. Their privacy notices cover that data:
- CJ Affiliate’s Services Privacy Policy, which covers the data CJ collects when you click an affiliate link: North America, EU and UK;
- Newark terms of use and privacy policy.
If you don’t want this tracking, don’t use the Newark links, or block or clear third-party cookies in your browser. You can always search for a part number on any distributor’s site directly.
Part numbers and purchases
This site is a reference tool. Its part numbers, contacts, mating connectors, accessories and diagrams are generated from published military specifications and secondary sources. They can contain errors, and specifications are revised, superseded and canceled over time.
You are responsible for verifying every part number, and every quantity, against the current specification and your own design requirements before you buy or use a part.
Newark decides what it lists, its prices and its stock. A search can return several listings for one part number, from different manufacturers or with different suffixes, or loose matches when Newark doesn’t carry the exact part. Check that a listing is the part you need before you order it.
Neither emechworkbench.com nor Newark is responsible for errors in the part numbers this site generates, or for any purchase made or part used on the basis of them. A purchase is between you and the seller, under the seller’s terms.
This site and its information are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, emechworkbench.com isn’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or its information.
This site isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Defense, SAE International or any manufacturer. Its only connection with Newark is the affiliate program described above.
Children
This site is meant for engineers and technicians. It isn’t directed at children under 16 and doesn’t knowingly collect information about them.
